Tease and Denial Rules: Solo Rule Sets, Daily Routines, Rewards and Punishments

By Aria Wilde · updated 2026-10-08 · 6 min read

tease and denial
Tease and denial is a form of erotic control where arousal is built up repeatedly through teasing while orgasm is delayed or withheld by rules. For solo players, it works best with a written rule set, a fixed daily routine, an outside decider such as a die or recorded session, and rewards that are earned rather than negotiated.

Tease and denial lives or dies on its rules. Without them, solo play turns into “just a bit longer” followed by giving in. With good rules, the same evenings become a structured, charged ritual you look forward to. Below are three rule sets you can copy, a daily routine, and the reward-and-punishment system I've seen work best for listeners playing alone.

What Tease and Denial Means in Practice

Tease and denial has two halves, and both need attention:

Too much denial and too little tease becomes abstinence. Too much tease and no real denial becomes ordinary masturbation with extra steps. The magic is in the balance: aroused often, satisfied rarely, and never on your own say-so.

If you haven't practised edging yet, read edging for beginners first. Every rule set below assumes you can stop reliably at about 8 out of 10.

How to Write Rules You'll Actually Keep

How to Write Rules You'll Actually Keep, Aria Wilde

Most solo rule sets fail within a week for the same reasons. Avoid them with these principles:

  1. Write the rules down before you start. In a notebook or a note on your phone, dated. Rules in your head get renegotiated.
  2. Keep it to 5-8 rules. Twenty rules feels impressive and is impossible to remember at the edge.
  3. Make every rule checkable. “Be good” is not a rule. “Three edges, then hands off for 60 seconds” is.
  4. Remove yourself from the decision. Use a die, a random timer, a lockbox, or a recorded session to decide release.
  5. Set a review date. Rules run for one or two weeks, then you review them — not mid-session.
  6. Include a slip rule. Decide in advance what happens if you break a rule, so a slip doesn't end the whole game.

Three Tease and Denial Rule Sets

Rule set A: The gentle starter (7 days)

  1. Tease sessions on days 1, 3, 5 and 7, 15-20 minutes each.
  2. Exactly three edges per session.
  3. Hands off for 60 seconds after every edge.
  4. No release on days 1-6.
  5. On day 7, release is allowed only after the third edge and only with a recorded session playing.
  6. Slip rule: if you finish early, the next cycle starts from day 1 and has four edges per session.

Rule set B: The daily ritual (14 days)

  1. One tease session every day, 10-30 minutes.
  2. Each session begins with putting on one feminine item and saying your chosen mantra five times.
  3. Edges per session = the day number, up to a maximum of 7.
  4. Release only on day 14, decided by a die: 1-3 full, 4-5 ruined, 6 denied for another three days.
  5. No touching outside sessions.
  6. Each night, two journal lines: arousal level (1-10) and the moment you wanted it most.
  7. Slip rule: add two days and one edge per session for the rest of the cycle.

Rule set C: The obedient one (open-ended)

  1. You only tease when a recorded session tells you to; no freelancing.
  2. You follow every instruction literally, including stopping mid-stroke.
  3. Release happens only when a session explicitly permits it.
  4. After every session, you say thank you out loud, whatever the outcome.
  5. Each week, one task chosen by a die from a list you wrote in advance (see below).
  6. Slip rule: one week of tease-only sessions, no release possible.

Rule set C pairs naturally with obedience work; my obedience training guide goes deeper into protocols and rituals.

A Daily Tease and Denial Routine

A Daily Tease and Denial Routine, Aria Wilde

A routine matters more than intensity. Here's a simple day that keeps the hum alive without taking over your life:

TimeTaskDuration
MorningOne affirmation track or mantra while getting ready5 minutes
DaytimeOne discreet reminder: panties, a ring, a phone wallpaper you chose for thisAll day
Early eveningTease session per your rule set15-30 minutes
After sessionHands off, glass of water, journal two lines5 minutes
BedtimeCalm sleep track, no touching20-40 minutes

For the morning slot, Sissy Affirmations to Wake Up To is built for exactly this. For bedtime, Sissy Hypnosis to Fall Asleep To helps you sleep instead of lying there restless.

Rewards That Work

Rewards should feel good, be specific, and be earned by rules, not by begging yourself. Some ideas, from small to big:

The golden rule: decide rewards before the cycle. Never invent one at the edge.

Punishments: Make Them Useful, Not Miserable

Punishments: Make Them Useful, Not Miserable, Aria Wilde

In solo play, “punishments” work best as consequences that deepen the game. Anything that genuinely makes your life worse — skipped meals, harming your sleep, real-world embarrassment — breaks the fantasy and makes you quit. Good solo consequences:

  1. Added days. The cleanest and most effective consequence.
  2. Extra edges with no release. Frustration as correction.
  3. Writing lines. “I wait until I'm told” 50 or 100 times by hand. Sissy Hypno Lines: Write It One Hundred Times turns this into a guided session.
  4. Corner time or kneeling for 5-10 minutes while listening to a session.
  5. Losing a reward you'd already earned.
  6. A posture or dress task for the next day.

Write a numbered list of six consequences and roll a die when you slip. It keeps you honest without becoming cruel.

Reviewing and Adjusting Your Rules

At the end of each cycle, sit down with your journal for ten minutes — fully dressed, not aroused, ideally the morning after. Ask yourself five questions:

  1. Which rule did I nearly break most often? That's either the most erotic rule or a badly designed one. If it's both, keep it; if it only caused stress, soften it.
  2. Which day felt best? Shape the next cycle so more days feel like that one.
  3. Did the tease side stay strong? If sessions felt routine by the second week, change the format: new audio, a different time of day, a new feminine item.
  4. Did any consequence feel genuinely bad rather than erotic? Remove it.
  5. What one rule would make the next cycle more intense? Add only one at a time.

This review is where solo play becomes a real practice. Each cycle should feel a little more like you, a little more structured, and a little harder to walk away from. Keep old rule sets in the same notebook; after a few months, reading back through them is its own quiet thrill.

Using Audio as Your Rule-Keeper

Using Audio as Your Rule-Keeper, Aria Wilde

The biggest weakness of solo tease and denial is that the person setting the rules is the same person who wants to break them. Audio fixes that. A recorded voice doesn't get tired, doesn't negotiate, and doesn't care that you're at 9. Some sessions that slot into the rule sets above:

To string sessions into a progression rather than picking at random, follow the Chastity and Denial path. And if tease and denial is part of a broader feminine practice for you, start the Sissy Academy path alongside it — the two reinforce each other.

For schedules, cycle lengths and how to add a cage, my orgasm denial training guide picks up where this one leaves off.

Frequently asked questions

How do you do tease and denial alone?

Write a short rule set before you start, schedule regular tease sessions with edging, and hand the release decision to something outside your mood: a die, a random timer, a lockbox or a recorded session. Journal briefly after each session and review the rules only on a set date.

How long should a tease and denial cycle last?

Beginners do well with 7-day cycles; 14 days is a good second step. The most intense days for many people fall between day 3 and day 7, so very long cycles aren't necessary to get the effect. Extend only once you've completed several shorter cycles without slips.

What are good punishments for solo denial?

Consequences that deepen the game rather than harm your life: extra days, extra edges without release, writing lines, kneeling while listening, losing a reward, or a dress or posture task. Roll a die from a pre-written list so you can't pick the easiest one.

What's the difference between tease and denial and edging?

Edging is a technique within a session. Tease and denial is the bigger structure: how often you're aroused, the rules around release, rewards and consequences, and who decides. Edging is usually the main teasing tool, but dressing, audio and tasks count too.

Should I touch myself outside of scheduled sessions?

Most rule sets say no, because unscheduled touching erodes control and desire quickly. A small exception some people keep: adjusting or brief contact while dressing is fine, anything with intent waits for the session. Write your version of this rule down explicitly.
