Brat Tamer Phrases: 90 Lines for Staying Calm, Calling Bluffs and Winning

By Aria Wilde · updated 2026-10-13 · 6 min read

brat tamer phrases
The best brat tamer phrases are calm, short and amused: Are you finished?, Try that again, Cute. Now do as you're told, Keep going, it's only making this worse for you. A brat pushes to be caught; the tamer wins by never losing composure. Below are 90 brat tamer phrases grouped by purpose, from warnings to praise and aftercare.

Here are 90 brat tamer phrases, grouped by what you need them to do. A brat is a submissive who pushes back on purpose, teasing, ignoring and talking back to provoke a reaction. A brat tamer is the dominant who enjoys catching them. The secret is that the brat wants to lose, but only to someone who stays calm. Every phrase below is built on composure.

The brat tamer's tone

Before the words, the delivery:

And, as always: agree limits and a safeword before play. Bratting is consensual theatre; my safeword ideas page has plenty to choose from.

Countdowns and warnings (27-38)

Countdowns and warnings (27-38), Aria Wilde

  2. One.
  3. That's two.
  4. You've got five seconds to fix your attitude.
  5. Last warning.

Consequence phrases (51-62)

Consequence phrases (51-62), Aria Wilde

Keep consequences within agreed limits and proportionate. Lines, corner time, delayed rewards and early bedtimes are classics.

  1. Corner. Now.
  2. Hands behind your back until I say otherwise.
  3. You've just lost dessert.
  4. Fifty lines. Neat handwriting.

  10. Quiet until I give you permission to speak.
  11. You'll thank me for this later.
  12. Now you'll do it properly, and you'll do it twice.

Written lines are one of my favourite tame consequences; Write It One Hundred Times turns them into a full session.

Rules and instructions (63-72)

Brats test rules, so make the rules clear enough to test. A written list helps; my sissy rules list has a framework.

  1. Here's how tonight is going to go.
  2. Answer me with 'yes' and my name.
  3. Eyes down unless I tell you otherwise.
  4. You ask before you move.

  7. Slow down. Do it right.
  8. Nothing happens until you ask nicely.
  9. Stay exactly like that.
  10. You'll stop when I say stop.

Praise when the brat behaves (73-82)

Praise when the brat behaves (73-82), Aria Wilde

The reward for surrender should be generous. Praise after resistance hits twice as hard; my praise kink phrases page has a hundred more.

  1. There it is. Good.
  2. See? That wasn't so hard.
  3. Much better.
  4. That's what I wanted. Good girl.
  5. Look at you, behaving.
  6. I knew you had manners in there somewhere.
  7. Thank you. That's all I needed.
  8. Good boy. Was the fight worth it?
  9. You can be so sweet when you want to be.
  10. I'm proud of you for giving in.

Aftercare lines (83-90)

Bratting can be emotionally intense on both sides. Drop the game completely for aftercare.

  1. Come here. You're safe.
  2. That was fun. You were brilliant.
  3. Do you need water or a blanket first?
  4. I love your fire. Never lose it.
  5. Tell me which part you liked best.
  6. Was anything too much?
  7. You know I adore you, right?
  8. Rest now. We'll do it again soon.

Common brat moves and the best reply

A short brat-and-tamer exchange

Here's how the phrases sound strung together. Notice how the tamer never speeds up.

Brat: I'm not doing the dishes. You can't make me.

Tamer: I'll wait.

Brat: You'll be waiting all night.

Tamer: That's fine. Every minute I wait is a minute you spend in the corner afterwards.

Brat: (rolls eyes) Terrifying.

Tamer: I'm going to count to three. One.

Brat: Fine. (starts, slowly and badly)

Tamer: Again. Properly.

Brat: (does it properly)

Tamer: There it is. Good girl. Now the corner, five minutes, for the eye-roll.

The brat got exactly what they wanted: a reaction that was calm, certain and impossible to rattle, a small consequence and real praise at the end.

Brat tamer vs strict dom: why the phrases differ

A strict dominant expects obedience from the start and treats pushback as a problem. A brat tamer expects pushback and treats it as the fun part. That changes the language. A strict dom says 'Do it now'; a tamer says 'Go on, try me', because the chase is what both people came for. Tamer phrases leave room for the brat to keep playing, while making it clear who will win in the end.

That's also why tamers praise more than people expect. The brat's surrender is the climax of the scene, and it deserves a big, warm reward. Without it, bratting turns into a standoff instead of a game.

How to use these brat tamer phrases

  1. Choose a lane. Some tamers are amused and teasing, some are cool and strict. Pick phrases that match your natural voice.
  2. Learn five by heart: one calm control line, one bluff call, a countdown, one consequence and one praise. That's a full scene.
  3. Escalate in order: calm, warning, countdown, consequence, praise. Skipping steps feels arbitrary.
  4. Let the brat win small things. A tamer who never laughs at a good line isn't fun to brat against.
  5. Debrief afterwards. Ask which lines hit, which fell flat, and add new ones.

If you'd like to hear the calm, unhurried control style these phrases need, Sissy Hypno Obedience Training and Do Nothing Until I Say are both free. For the wider dynamic, obedience training explains how rules and rewards fit together, and the Sissy Academy path builds that structure lesson by lesson.

Frequently asked questions

What does a brat tamer say?

Short, calm, slightly amused lines: Are you finished?, Try that again, I'll wait, That's cute, now do as you're told. The goal is to show the brat their pushback doesn't rattle you, then follow through with a fair consequence and generous praise when they comply.

How do you tame a brat without being mean?

Stay playful and proportionate. Use countdowns so the brat always has a chance to comply, choose agreed consequences like lines or corner time, and praise warmly when they give in. Taming is about composure and consistency, not harshness.

What are good brat punishments?

Lines, corner time, kneeling, losing a small privilege, extra waiting, an early bedtime, or having to say please before every sentence. All should be negotiated in advance and kept within limits. The best ones are slightly embarrassing rather than painful.

What is the difference between a brat and a disobedient sub?

A brat pushes back playfully because the chase is part of the fun, and wants to be caught. Genuine disobedience means the sub isn't enjoying the dynamic or disagrees with it. If resistance stops feeling like a game, pause and talk outside the scene.

Do brat tamers need a safeword?

Yes. Brats say no and stop as part of the game, which makes a separate safeword essential. Many use the traffic light system so the brat can signal yellow for slow down without ending the scene entirely.
