Chastity cage: meaning
Also: cock cage, chastity device, male chastity device, cage, CB

A chastity cage, often called a cock cage, is a small locking device that encloses the penis so the wearer cannot get fully hard, touch himself or have sex until someone unlocks it. People wear one for orgasm denial, to hand control to a partner, or as part of femdom and sissy play. 'Locked' or 'caged' means wearing one.
What a chastity cage is
Most cages have three parts:
- Base ring: sits behind the testicles and anchors the device.
- Cage or tube: encloses the penis, usually shorter than the flaccid length so there is no room to swell.
- Lock: a small padlock, a numbered plastic tag, or a built-in lock that joins the two.
Materials vary. Resin and plastic cages are light and cheap; stainless steel and titanium are durable and suit long wear; silicone is soft and comfortable but easier to slip out of. A small opening at the tip allows urination. If you are choosing one, sizing matters more than anything, and my cage sizing guide shows how to measure.
Why people wear one

People give a handful of recurring reasons:
- Denial: the cage enforces orgasm denial physically, not by willpower.
- Power exchange: a keyholder controls the key, and with it his pleasure.
- Heightened arousal: days without release make every touch, tease and word land harder.
- Devotion: some wearers feel more attentive and affectionate toward a partner while locked.
- Feminization: in sissy play, a small cage is framed as making the penis irrelevant, a 'clitty'.
- Challenge: events like Locktober turn it into a month-long test, with thousands of people locking on the same day.
Chastity cage vs chastity belt
A cage covers only the penis. A chastity belt is a larger device worn around the waist with a shield, used by both men and women. Cages are far more common in modern kink because they are smaller, cheaper and easier to wear under clothes. My guide on belt vs cage compares them in detail.
How people use the word

'Caged', 'locked' and 'in chastity' all mean wearing a cage. 'Unlocked' means released, briefly or for good. 'Release' or 'unlock day' is when the keyholder lets him out, sometimes for cleaning only, sometimes for a finish. 'Day 12 locked' is the standard way people track progress online.
Chastity in audio
Audio and chastity go together naturally: a dominant voice reminding a locked listener of the key she holds, assigning tasks, describing what he is missing. Many listeners wear a cage while listening. Locktober Week 2: The Rules and Cock Cage Denial are built for locked listeners, and the best chastity audio list collects more.
Is wearing a chastity cage safe?
A well-fitted cage worn with regular cleaning is low risk for most people. Pinching, numbness, discoloured skin or swelling means take it off immediately, and beginners should build up from a few hours rather than starting with days. My beginner chastity guide walks through the first week.
Examples in a sentence
- He's on day nine in his chastity cage and climbing the walls.
- Her husband wears a steel cage; she keeps the key on her necklace.
- Resin cage for daily wear, steel one for long weekends.
- The audio reminded me I was caged every five minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Can you get hard in a chastity cage?
Not fully. A properly sized cage is shorter than the flaccid penis, so an erection starts but has no room to grow. Wearers feel the pressure and the urge, which is part of the point, but a full erection is prevented. Morning and night erections can be uncomfortable during the first days.
How do you pee in a chastity cage?
Cages have an opening at the tip so urine can pass. Most wearers sit down to avoid spraying, which is also a common rule in sissy and femdom play. Rinsing the cage afterwards or once a day keeps it clean and prevents odour and irritation.
How long can you wear a chastity cage?
Beginners usually start with a few hours, then overnight, then several days. Experienced wearers lock for weeks with regular cleaning and a well-fitted device. The limit is comfort and skin health, not a fixed number; any numbness or swelling means remove it immediately.
