How to Hypnotize Your Partner: Erotic Hypnosis Step by Step
By Aria Wilde · updated 2026-10-19 · 6 min read

Hypnotizing a partner for erotic play is about preparation, patience and a calm voice, not about tricks. You agree what will happen, you help them relax and focus, you offer a few suggestions that they are happy to follow, and you bring them out gently. A first session can be short, around 25 minutes, and still feel intense for both of you.
Step 0: Negotiate before you begin
Talk when you are both dressed and clear-headed, never in the middle of play. Cover these points.
- Why. What do you each want from it: relaxation, obedience play, a sensual trance, teasing?
- Limits. What is off the table? Name the topics and words you will not use.
- A stop signal. A word and a hand signal. "Red" and lifting a finger works well.
- Aftercare. What do they need afterwards: water, cuddling, quiet, a snack?
- Physical setup. Where, how long, whether you may touch, and whether someone could interrupt.
If you use a structure like a negotiation checklist, it takes ten minutes and prevents most problems. The notes on safewords and consent in hypnosis cover the wording. Remember that the subject stays in control: they can open their eyes or speak at any moment.
Prepare the room and yourself
- Warm, dim, quiet. Phones off.
- A comfortable chair or bed for your partner, with head support.
- A glass of water within reach.
- A written outline of what you will say; reading from a page is fine.
- Take two minutes to slow your own breathing. Your calm sets the tone.
Your voice matters more than your words. Speak a little lower and slower than normal, pause often and match your phrases to the rhythm of their breath. The guide on having a hypnotic voice has practice drills.
The session, step by step
Step 1: A simple induction (5 minutes)
Eye fixation with a count works for most people.
- Ask your partner to look at a spot on the wall above eye level, or at your finger.
- Say: "Keep looking at that spot. Notice your breathing. With every breath out, your eyes get a little heavier."
- After about a minute, say: "You can let your eyes close whenever they want to."
- Move to the body: "Feel your forehead soften. Your jaw loosen. Your shoulders drop. Your arms heavy. Your legs heavy."
- Count down from ten to one, and tie each number to the word "deeper" or "softer".
You can read a ready-made text from the hypnosis induction script, and the terms eye fixation and countdown induction explain the pieces.
Step 2: Deepen (5 minutes)
A deepener adds focus and relaxation after the first induction. Pick one.
- The staircase. "You are on a staircase with ten steps. With each step down, you feel safer and heavier."
- Fractionation. Ask them to open their eyes, then close them again on your cue, repeating three times. Each close goes deeper.
- The lift. Describe a lift moving down slowly through floors.
Match the speed to your partner. If their breathing is slow and their face is soft, you can move on. If they fidget, spend another minute on relaxation. More ideas are in the hypnosis deepener script.
Step 3: Test, then give the first suggestion
Test lightly with an arm: "Your hand is light, floating up." If the hand lifts or twitches, they are responding. If nothing happens, keep going; testing is not a pass mark.
Your first suggestion should be easy to accept and nice to feel. Examples:
- "Every time I touch your shoulder, you relax a little more."
- "Warmth spreads from your chest to your hands."
- "When I say the word soft, your body softens."
Repeat it three or four times, slowly. Then pause for 30 seconds in silence. Do not add erotic content until the second or third session; the first is for building trust and checking responsiveness.
Step 4: Add play, if you both agreed
Once the person is relaxed and responsive, you can use suggestions that fit what you agreed: heightened touch sensitivity, obedience to simple instructions, a feeling of floating, or a link between a word and arousal. Rules to keep:
- Keep suggestions positive and clear.
- Use agreed words only; never improvise something they did not approve.
- Check in with a question: "Are you okay? Squeeze my hand once for yes."
- Keep time; erotic trance ends more cleanly when you set the limit in advance.

Waking and aftercare
Step 5: Wake your partner
Always end deliberately. Count up from one to five: "One, you are coming back slowly. Two, feeling the room. Three, your fingers and toes moving. Four, taking a bigger breath. Five, eyes open, fully awake, feeling calm."
Wait for them to settle. Offer water. If they seem groggy, ask them to stretch and look around, naming three things they can see. A few minutes of quiet is normal.
Step 6: Aftercare and debrief
Hypnosis can leave people open, emotional or sleepy. Stay close. Cuddle, listen, and let them talk about what they felt. Ask three questions:
- What did you enjoy?
- Was anything uncomfortable?
- What should we repeat or change?
Write notes for next time. The aftercare after hypnosis page has a full checklist.
When something goes off script
| What you see | What it usually means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Fidgeting, eyes keep opening | Not relaxed yet, or self-conscious | Slow down, return to breathing, praise small progress |
| Giggling | Nerves or the novelty | Smile with them, wait it out, continue gently |
| Tears or sudden emotion | Release; trance can open feelings | Pause, stay close, ask if they want to continue or stop |
| They fall asleep | Very relaxed, or tired | Say their name softly, then count them up; try another time of day |
| Nothing seems to happen | Light response or high expectations | Reframe as relaxation practice; keep sessions short |
| They want to stop | Their right at any point | Stop at once, count up, offer comfort, talk later |
Your response to these moments builds trust faster than a perfect script does. If your partner uses the stop signal once and you respond kindly, they will feel safer going deeper next time.
Mistakes to avoid
- Rushing the induction. Slow is better; speed breaks the spell.
- Skipping the negotiation because it feels unromantic.
- Using a script voice that sounds stiff. Practice reading it aloud first.
- Giving too many suggestions at once. Two or three per session is plenty.
- Expecting a movie result. Most first sessions are about relaxation and rapport.
- Laughing at the partner. Laughter is natural; acknowledge it and continue.
A three-session plan

Session one: induction, deepener, one relaxing suggestion, wake up, talk. Session two: repeat the same induction faster, add a trigger word linked to relaxation, add light touch suggestions. Session three: bring in the erotic element you agreed to, with a clear stop point. By then you will know their pace and your own.
A sample first-session script
Read this slowly, with a pause at every full stop. "Settle into the chair. Let your eyes rest on that spot. Breathe in, and as you breathe out, let your shoulders fall. Each breath out is a little heavier. Your eyelids are getting tired. Let them close when you are ready. Now feel the weight of your arms. Heavy and warm. I will count from ten to one, and with every number you can sink a little further. Ten, nine, eight. Your mind is quiet. Seven, six, five. Everything loosening. Four, three, two, one. Deeply relaxed. In a moment I will say one word: soft. Each time you hear it, your body softens. Soft. Good. Rest here a while." Then wait one minute in silence and begin the wake-up. A script this plain is enough for a first evening; elaborate stories come later.
Frequently asked questions
Can anyone hypnotize their partner?
Yes, with preparation. You need willingness from your partner, a calm voice, a simple induction and respect for limits. Most people can learn the basics in an evening, though skill grows with practice.
What should I say to hypnotize someone?
Start with eye fixation and slow breathing, relax each part of the body, count down, and then use short positive suggestions in a slow voice. Reading a written script is fine and often helps beginners.
How do I know if my partner is hypnotized?
Look for slower breathing, softer facial muscles, stillness, eyelid flutter and loose limbs. A hand that floats up or a delayed response to your questions also helps, but ask them afterwards how it felt.
What if my partner does not respond to hypnosis?
Slow down, spend longer on relaxation and make suggestions easier. Some people need several sessions to respond, and some stay lightly relaxed. Try a recorded file together and keep the sessions short and pleasant.
How do I end a hypnosis session safely?
Count up from one to five, suggest feeling awake and calm, wait for them to open their eyes and offer water. Spend time together afterwards. If they seem upset or dizzy, keep them seated until they feel normal.
