Hypnosis Trigger Ideas: 120 Triggers Grouped by Effect, With Phrasing

By Aria Wilde · updated 2026-10-13 · 7 min read

hypnosis trigger ideas
The best hypnosis trigger ideas are short, distinctive cues tied to one clear response: a drop word for trance, a wake count, a praise phrase, a stillness cue or a sensory anchor such as a colour, scent or sound. Below are 120 trigger ideas grouped by effect, with the phrasing that makes each one install cleanly.

Here are 120 hypnosis trigger ideas, grouped by what they do, with notes on how to phrase them. I've used versions of most of these in my own files, and the rest are the ones listeners ask me for again and again. If you want the theory first (what a trigger is and why conditioning works), read my hypnosis triggers list. This page is the idea bank.

How to phrase a trigger so it actually installs

Every trigger on this page follows one formula: cue + response + condition. 'When you hear me say drift, your eyes close and you sink twice as deep, only when you're safe and choosing to listen.' The cue is the word. The response is one clear, physical effect. The condition keeps it contained to the moments you want it.

Three phrasing rules matter more than the word you pick:

Drop and trance triggers (1-18)

Drop and trance triggers (1-18), Aria Wilde

These take you back into trance without a long induction. Build one of these first, because almost every other trigger rides on top of it.

  1. Drift: eyes close, breathing slows.
  2. Sink: a heavy, downward feeling through the chest.
  3. Deeper now: doubles whatever depth you're already at.
  4. Blank and soft: thoughts thin out and the mind goes quiet.
  5. Melt: muscles release from the face downward.
  6. Down you go: playful, works well dropped mid-sentence.
  7. Fade: the room seems quieter and farther away.
  8. Lullaby: a rare word, so the drop stays very clean.
  9. Hush: a whispered single syllable, perfect for ASMR.
  10. Let go: effort and tension switch off together.
  11. Static: the mind fills with soft white noise.
  12. Under: short and firm, ideal for fractionation.
  13. Feather: a light, floating drop instead of a heavy one.
  14. Ten to zero: a countdown that ends in trance.
  15. Go limp: physical slackness, hands fall open.
  16. Snap and sleep: a finger snap followed by one word.
  17. Spiral: pairs with a real or imagined spiral.
  18. Empty: the classic cue for blank mind trance.

Wake and return triggers (19-26)

Every drop needs a way back. Pair each drop trigger with one of these and always put both in the same session.

  1. One to five, wide awake: the standard count-up.
  2. Eyes open, feeling bright: quick and clear.
  3. Back in the room: orienting, good after very deep files.
  4. Shake it off: wiggle fingers and toes, full reset.
  5. Surface: rising-through-water imagery.
  6. Fresh and clear: wake with energy, made for mornings.
  7. Reset: clears any active trigger and returns you to neutral.
  8. All done, thank you: a gentle closing cue that ends the session.

Praise and warmth triggers (27-44)

Praise and warmth triggers (27-44), Aria Wilde

Praise triggers install fastest because praise already feels good before any conditioning. Give each one its own flavour: pride, warmth, arousal or calm.

  1. Good girl: warmth in the chest and a small smile. The most famous trigger there is, with its own good girl trigger guide.
  2. That's my girl: pride plus belonging.
  3. Good boy: the same mechanism for listeners who prefer it.
  4. Perfect: a quick jolt of satisfaction.
  5. Pretty thing: posture and face soften.
  6. So proud of you: a slow, spreading warmth.
  7. Well done, sweetheart: a gentle reward after a task.
  8. Such a good listener: reward for focus.
  9. Clever girl: pride in learning something new.
  10. Look at you: self-consciousness flips into pleasure.
  11. Mine: belonging and safety.
  12. Glow: a literal warm glow across the skin.
  13. Purr: contentment, a hum in the throat.
  14. Gold star: playful, made for task-based training.
  15. You did it: relief after a challenge.
  16. Lovely: a light praise word that's safe in everyday speech.
  17. Exactly right: reward for following an instruction precisely.
  18. Sweet girl: tender, sleepy warmth.

Stillness and body triggers (45-58)

These change what your body does or feels. Build a release word and a time limit into every one of them.

  1. Freeze: still for ten seconds, then release.
  2. Statue: a pose held until you hear release.
  3. Heavy hands: arms feel too heavy to lift.
  4. Kneel: the pull to settle onto your knees, in private.
  5. Hands flat: palms down on your thighs, still and waiting.
  6. Breathe with me: your breathing syncs to the voice.
  7. Tingles: ASMR tingles from scalp to neck.
  8. Shiver: one pleasant shiver down the spine.
  9. Soft mouth: jaw unclenches, lips part slightly.
  10. Posture: spine straightens, chin lifts.
  11. Floaty: the body feels light, almost weightless.
  12. Sit pretty: knees together, hands folded.
  13. Stay: you remain where you are until released.
  14. Release: undoes any stillness trigger instantly.

Mantra and speech triggers (59-72)

Mantra and speech triggers (59-72), Aria Wilde

Speaking a suggestion means you hear it and produce it, which doubles the input. These triggers prompt a mantra or reward one.

  1. Say it for me: prompts your current mantra.
  2. Repeat after me: opens a call-and-response loop.
  3. Obey is easy: each repetition takes you deeper.
  4. I am soft: calm and acceptance.
  5. Yes, Miss: an automatic polite reply.
  6. Thank you: a gratitude reflex after praise.
  7. Softer: your voice drops and lightens.
  8. Again: the last phrase repeats, deeper each time.
  9. Whisper it: you speak only in a whisper until released.
  10. Count with me: you count aloud, sinking on each number.
  11. I like this: an honest affirmation that disarms resistance.
  12. Good and quiet: speech stops, the mind settles.
  13. Sing-song: the mantra comes out in a light, playful rhythm.
  14. Say your name: prompts your chosen feminine name.

Feminization and identity triggers (73-88)

These attach a feminine feeling to a cue. Keep them private: they belong to your sessions and your own quiet moments.

  1. Pretty: a flush of feminine self-image.
  2. Pink: softness whenever you see the colour, built step by step in Anchored to the Colour Pink.
  3. Lipstick: awareness of your lips, a softer expression.
  4. Her name: instant response to your feminine name, as in Lesson 12: Her Name.
  5. Lace: a delicate feeling against the skin.
  6. Curtsy: a small, polite dip of the knees in private.
  7. Ladylike: hands, posture and voice all soften.
  8. Hips: your walk shifts and your hips lead.
  9. Silky: skin feels smooth and sensitive.
  10. Doll: a blank, pretty, smiling state.
  11. Bubbles: giggly, light-headed, easy thoughts.
  12. Mirror: acceptance when you catch your reflection.
  13. Pretty girl walk: walking practice takes over.
  14. Princess: a pampered, cherished feeling.
  15. Soft girl: gentle, unhurried movement.
  16. Underneath: private awareness of what you're wearing under your clothes.

Sensory anchors: colour, scent, sound and touch (89-104)

Sensory anchors: colour, scent, sound and touch (89-104), Aria Wilde

Anchors live inside your normal day, so every encounter strengthens them. My hypnotic anchors guide has a seven-day build plan.

  1. Lavender (colour or scent): calm and softness.
  2. One specific perfume: a feminine mood, as in Anchored to a Scent.
  3. Vanilla lotion: applied slowly, it deepens relaxation.
  4. Your phone's notification chime: a flicker of softness, the idea behind Anchored to a Sound.
  5. A single bell tone: one tone, one drop.
  6. Rain sounds: a sleepy, cosy state.
  7. Touching your earlobe: discreet calm anywhere.
  8. Thumb pressed to ring finger: a private drop for self-hypnosis.
  9. Soft fabric on skin: calm and acceptance.
  10. Warmth: sunlight, a shower, a warm mug, all used in Anchored to Warmth.
  11. The click of heels: posture and attention.
  12. A candle being lit: the start-of-session ritual.
  13. Brushing your hair: slow, soothing, feminine.
  14. Running water: the shower becomes a session.
  15. Fresh nail polish: confidence and polish.
  16. A necklace clasp closing: belonging, every time it clicks.

Arousal and denial triggers (105-112)

For adult listeners in tease-and-denial play. Each one needs a clear off-switch written into the same file.

  1. Edge: arousal rises to the brink and holds there.
  2. Hands off: hands leave your body immediately.
  3. Ache: awareness of wanting, without release.
  4. Not yet: release is postponed, calmly.
  5. Locked: a chastity mindset, the backbone of the chastity and denial path.
  6. Countdown: ten to zero, permission only on zero.
  7. Cool down: arousal drains and breathing slows.
  8. Thank me: gratitude after denial.

Sleep and bedtime triggers (113-120)

Bedtime triggers turn your last minutes awake into practice. They suit the daily and sleep path.

  1. Goodnight, sweet girl: permission to drift off.
  2. Pillow: head on the pillow means heaviness.
  3. Dream pink: sets a soft theme for the night.
  4. Lights out: the mind dims with the room.
  5. Sleepy and safe: a calm, protected feeling.
  6. Last breath of the day: one long exhale, full release.
  7. Morning pretty: a waking cue paired with an affirmation.
  8. Sleep now: the final, plain drop into ordinary sleep.

How to use these trigger ideas

Treat the list like a menu, not a shopping spree. Listeners who install six triggers in a week usually end up with six weak ones.

  1. Choose one drop and one wake (one from 1-18, one from 19-26). Use only those for two weeks.
  2. Add one praise trigger. It rewards every trigger you build after it.
  3. Add one sensory anchor you'll meet every day.
  4. Write your active list down: cue, effect, release word.
  5. Test every few days while relaxed: hear or think the cue, rate the response from 0 to 10.
  6. Retire what doesn't fit. Stop reinforcing it and it fades; do hypnosis triggers wear off explains how fast.

A strong starter stack is drift + one to five + good girl + pink. If you'd like me to build them for you, Sissy Hypnosis With One Trigger Word installs a single cue properly, the triggers and anchors path layers them in the right order, and the Sissy Academy path uses them across a full training arc.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good trigger word for hypnosis?

A good trigger word is short, distinctive and rarely used in daily speech, so it stays sharp: drift, lullaby, hush, sink or static all work well. Pair it with one clear physical response, such as eyes closing or shoulders dropping, and always give it a matching wake cue.

How many hypnosis triggers should I have?

Start with two, a drop and a wake, and add one at a time once each is reliable. Most experienced listeners run four to eight active triggers. More than that tends to blur responses, especially if several triggers produce similar feelings.

Can I make up my own hypnosis trigger?

Yes. Choose a cue, decide on one response, and pair them repeatedly while relaxed, in self-hypnosis or with a file that lets you insert your own word. Recording the cue in your own voice works surprisingly well and keeps the trigger completely private.

What are examples of post-hypnotic triggers?

Classic examples are a drop word that returns you to trance, a count from one to five that wakes you, good girl producing warmth, freeze producing stillness, and a colour such as pink producing a soft mood whenever you see it during the day.

Are hypnosis triggers safe to use?

Yes, when they're built with consent and a release. A trigger brings back a state; it can't make you act against your values, and in the wrong setting you'll feel at most a flicker. Avoid triggers tied to driving, spending or secrecy, and always include a wake cue.
