Silicone breastplate: meaning
Also: breast plate, silicone breast form, chest plate, wearable breasts

A silicone breastplate is a wearable chest piece, moulded in medical-grade silicone, that gives a full feminine bust in one unit. It sits on your chest like a second layer of skin, usually with a cleavage line and a thin edge that blends into the body.
What a breastplate is
The piece is cast as a single sheet that spans the chest: two breasts joined by a cleavage, with feathered edges. It is heavy (often 1 to 3 kg for a full size) and warm. Some are filled with gel or a lighter fibre to reduce weight, and most come in several skin tones and cup sizes.
People use them for drag, crossplay, en femme evenings and photos, and in some feminization play. They do not stand in for medical transition; they are costume-grade or comfort-grade aids.
Breastplate vs breast forms
| Feature | Breastplate | Separate breast forms |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | One sheet across the chest | Two independent forms |
| Look | Smooth cleavage, natural blend | Needs a bra to look natural |
| Weight | Heavier | Lighter options in foam |
| Ease | Adhesive or harness; takes practice | Slip into a bra pocket |
| Care | Needs cleaning and powder | Simple wash |
| Use | Outfit with low neckline, lingerie | Everyday and travel |
For an overview of the second category see breast forms guide and silicone vs foam breast forms. If you are unsure which to try first, forms are easier; a plate is more realistic under low-cut clothes.
How to wear one
- Shave or trim the chest where the plate edge sits, and clean with alcohol-free wipes.
- Apply medical-grade skin adhesive in thin layers to the plate and the skin; let it go tacky.
- Place the cleavage line on your sternum, press from the centre outwards and smooth the feathered edges.
- Wear a bra or a dress with structure to hide the edge.
- Remove with adhesive remover or oil; never rip it off dry.
Some harness-style plates strap behind the back instead, which is easier for short wear.
Care

Wash with mild soap and lukewarm water, dry with a cloth, then dust with talc-free powder. Store flat or in a box, away from heat and sharp objects. Silicone attracts lint, so keep it in a pouch.
Comfort and safety
Silicone is warm; take breaks and let skin breathe. Adhesive can cause rashes, so patch test first. Weight on the shoulders adds up, so do not wear a heavy plate for hours without support. If your chest skin feels sore, stop.
Breastplates in sissy play

For many sissies a breastplate is a milestone piece: it changes how a dress hangs and how you stand. Pairing with hip pads, a corset and posture work gives a convincing shape. The mental side matters as much; Sissy Hypnosis for Getting Dressed and Sissy Hypnosis for Confidence support the transition from private fantasy to feeling at ease in the shape.
Getting a proper fit
Measure around the chest below the nipples and around the fullest part. Many sellers use cup letters differently, so check their size charts and weights. Start one cup smaller than you think you want; heavier plates are harder to wear than they look.
Examples in a sentence
- "The silicone breastplate gave her a proper cleavage line."
- "Breast forms are easier, but a breastplate looks better in a low neckline."
- "Always patch-test the adhesive before wearing a plate."
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a breastplate and breast forms?
A breastplate is a single sheet of silicone covering the chest with a built-in cleavage. Breast forms are separate shapes that fit in a bra. Plates look more natural in low necklines but are heavier and need adhesive or a harness; forms are simpler for everyday use.
How long can you wear a silicone breastplate?
A few hours is comfortable for most people; some wear them for a full evening with breaks. They are warm and heavy, and adhesive can irritate skin, so do not wear one overnight. Take it off if your skin is sore or you feel overheated.
How do you keep a breastplate in place?
Use medical-grade skin adhesive in thin layers, press from the centre outward and smooth the edges. Wearing a bra on top adds support. Harness-style plates strap at the back instead of using adhesive, which is easier for short wear.
