F4A: meaning

Also: female for any, F4All, F4Any

f4a meaning
F4A: F4A means female for any audience: a tag on audio scripts and recordings indicating a female voice performing for listeners of any gender. It is used in the erotic audio and ASMR communities, together with tags such as F4M and F4F, to show who the script addresses.

F4A stands for female for any (or female for all). It is a script tag from the erotic audio community, used on titles to say that the speaker is a woman and the script is written so that a listener of any gender can enjoy it.

What F4A means

In the audio world, tags follow the pattern speaker-for-listener: the letter before the 4 is the performer, the letter after it is the intended listener. So:

TagMeaning
F4MFemale speaker, male listener
F4FFemale speaker, female listener
F4AFemale speaker, any listener
M4FMale speaker, female listener
M4MMale speaker, male listener
M4AMale speaker, any listener
F4NBFemale speaker, non-binary listener

The tag comes from Reddit audio communities, where creators label scripts so voice actors can choose what to record. It then spread to titles and tags on audio libraries.

What an F4A script looks like

What an F4A script looks like, Aria Wilde

An F4A script avoids gender-specific language for the listener. It uses "you" and avoids terms like "boy" or "girl" unless the role requires it. It may include variations: choose-your-own-adventure branches, optional lines, or neutral pet names. For performers it makes the script reusable.

Typical genres:

F4A vs F4M in practice

My library is mostly F4M: a female voice speaking to a male listener who is being feminized, because that is what the sissy hypnosis format needs. But a number of my files are fine for any listener. Sissy Affirmations to Wake Up To and A Letter to the Girl You're Becoming lean gentle and personal. If you identify differently, look for the softer, relaxation-focused pieces; how to choose a hypnosis file helps.

Why the tag matters

Why the tag matters, Aria Wilde
  1. For listeners: it signals whether the voice and script address you.
  2. For performers: it shows which scripts they can voice without changes.
  3. For writers: it sets the default language and pronouns.

Using F4A scripts

If you want to perform one: read it aloud first, mark neutral lines, keep your tone consistent and decide whether to credit the writer. Script fill explains crediting conventions, and how to record hypnosis audio covers setup.

Misreading the tag

"For any" does not mean "for everyone's taste". It only means the script uses neutral address. Check the content notes for themes before you play.

Reading a tag list

A title can stack several tags, for example [F4M][GFE][soft spoken][sleep aid]. Read them left to right: speaker and listener first, genre second, delivery style third, intended use last. Square brackets mark the tags, parentheses mark content notes such as (kissing) or (roleplay). If the tag you need is missing, search the script description for the word "gender-neutral" or "any listener", which writers often use in place of the tag. Treat the tags as guidance: they describe the script as written, and a performer can still change the pronouns.

Frequently asked questions

What does F4A stand for?

F4A stands for female for any (or female for all). It tells you the speaker is a woman and that the script is written for listeners of any gender. It follows the speaker-for-listener pattern used across audio communities.

What is the difference between F4A and F4M?

F4A addresses any listener with neutral language. F4M addresses a male listener specifically and may use gendered terms. Choose F4A if you want something that fits regardless of your gender; choose F4M if the male-listener fantasy is the point.

Where does the F4A tag come from?

It comes from Reddit audio-script communities, where writers label their scripts with the performer's and listener's gender so voice actors can pick suitable material. The pattern spread to audio libraries and creator titles.
