How to Peg a Guy: A Giver's Manual from Harness Fit to Aftercare
By Aria Wilde · updated 2026-10-18 · 6 min read

Most pegging advice is addressed to the person receiving. This one is for you, the person wearing the harness. You are the one who has to hold the pace, read the signals and not panic when it feels strange. The good news: it is a learnable skill, and the technique is simpler than your nerves suggest.
What you are responsible for
As the giver you control four things: fit (the harness), angle, speed and attention. He controls the fifth, which is whether it continues. Hold that division in your head and the night gets easier.
Step 1: fit the harness before anything else

A harness that shifts every time you move will ruin your confidence and his comfort.
- Put it on before you add lube, and stand in front of a mirror.
- Wear it low on the hips, where the toy sits where a natural erection would, not up on your belly.
- Tighten until you can fit two fingers under the strap and no more.
- Check the toy sits level or pointing very slightly upward when you stand. If it droops, tighten the thigh straps or move the ring up.
- Squat and thrust a few times in the air. If anything slides, fix it now.
Details are in how to put on a strap-on harness and, if you need to choose one, how to choose a strap-on harness.
Step 2: warm him up properly
Do not go straight to the toy. A comfortable body takes 20-30 minutes.
- Start with kissing, touching, and external massage around his glutes and inner thighs.
- Add lube generously, then use one lubed finger, circling first, only entering when his muscles soften.
- Tell him to breathe out slowly when you press. This releases the sphincter.
If he tenses, stop moving, keep your finger still and wait for three breaths. Wait is the single most useful word in your vocabulary.
Step 3: the entry

- Put lube on the toy and on him. More than you think.
- Hold the base of the toy in your hand, which lets you control the angle and the depth.
- Rest the tip against him. Do not push. Ask him to breathe out.
- As he breathes out, move forward a few millimetres.
- Stop at the first resistance and hold. After several breaths, go on.
The head of the toy is the hard part. Once it is in, give him a full minute to adjust before you do anything else.
Step 4: find the angle
The prostate sits on the front side of his body, roughly 5-7 cm (2-3 inches) inside, toward the belly button. You do not need to hit it exactly. Aim the toy gently upward toward his navel rather than straight in.
How to do that in practice:
- Tilt your pelvis so your hips rock forward and up on the stroke.
- Lean your weight slightly forward over him.
- Use a pillow under his hips so the geometry does half the work.
The positions in pegging positions show what works for which height and angle.
Step 5: stroke length and rhythm

New givers either pound or freeze. Aim for the middle.
| Stage | Stroke length | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| First 5 minutes | 1-3 cm (under an inch) | Slow, about one stroke per 2 seconds |
| Settled | 3-6 cm | One stroke per second |
| Building | Longer, with pauses | Vary: slow, slow, quicker |
Rhythm matters more than force. Rocking beats thrusting: use small circular hips and rock your whole pelvis. Many men find a steady, rocking pressure on the prostate more intense than thrusting.
Step 6: read his body
You cannot see his face in most positions, so read everything else.
- Breathing: slow and deep means yes. Held breath or short gasps mean pause and ask.
- Hands: clenched sheets or knuckles are a signal. Relaxed hands are fine.
- Muscle tone: if his glutes squeeze hard, slow down or withdraw a centimetre.
- Sounds: low moans and sighs good, sharp inhales not so good.
When in doubt, stop moving and say: "How's that?"
Check-in phrases that don't kill the mood

You can stay in character and still check in.
- "Green, yellow or red?"
- "Tell me what you need, slave." (Dominant tone, but it asks.)
- "Slower or deeper? One word."
- "Breathe for me. Good. Again."
Agree a stop word beforehand using pegging communication and safewords.
Hands-free tricks
You do not have to be a human metronome.
- Let him come to you. Hold still and let him rock back onto the toy.
- Prop him with pillows so the angle is fixed and you only rock a little.
- Use your hands elsewhere: nipples, his hair, his chest, or a hand around his throat if you have agreed to that.
- Add a vibrator at the base of the harness for you, or a small wand on his perineum for him.
Step 7: finishing and aftercare
Ending matters. Slow your rhythm, then stop, then withdraw gradually on his out-breath. Do not pull out fast. Take him in your arms, clean the toy later and give him water. Read pegging aftercare for what comes next.
What a first session can look like
A plan helps when your head is full of nerves. Here is a realistic first-night timeline.
- 0-10 minutes: talk, kiss, put on the harness, show him the toy. Confirm the stop word.
- 10-25 minutes: massage, lube, one finger, then two if he is comfortable. Breathing exercises, the way you would guide a hypnosis induction: in for four, out for six.
- 25-30 minutes: the toy. Lie him on his side or back, enter slowly, then stay still for a full minute.
- 30-45 minutes: short, slow rocking. Switch to a second position only if both of you want to.
- 45-60 minutes: finishing, with or without him touching himself. Withdraw slowly, towel, water, cuddle.
Do not judge the night by whether he has an orgasm from it. A first session that ends with both of you relaxed and wanting another is a success.
If something goes wrong
- He tenses and says it hurts: stop moving, withdraw a little, add lube, breathe together. If it's sharp rather than a stretch, end the penetration.
- The toy keeps slipping out: tighten the harness, and use a thicker lube that is safe for your toy.
- You get tired: put a pillow under him and let him rock back onto the toy.
- The mood dies: laugh, kiss, and carry on with something else. Pegging does not have to be a single continuous act.
Your voice is half the technique
A giver who stays quiet leaves him alone with his nerves. Narrate what you are doing: "I'm going to move forward now, breathe out." Predictability relaxes muscles, because the body stops bracing for surprises. If you like the dominant side of it, use it. Short, low commands such as "Breathe," "Open for me," and "Good, stay there" do double duty: they set the mood and they guide his body.
Praise at the right moments. When his shoulders drop or his breathing deepens, tell him so. Men often feel exposed the first few times, and hearing that he is doing well makes the next session easier. Keep the tone steady, even when you are unsure yourself; he will borrow your calm.
Common giver mistakes
- Starting with a toy that's too big.
- Not enough lube. Reapply before you think you need to.
- Thrusting from the arms instead of the hips.
- Going silent. Talk, even if it is only "good boy."
- Assuming no sound means everything is fine.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I'm doing it right?
His breathing is deep and slow, his muscles stay soft, and he asks for more or stays quiet and relaxed. Tense shoulders, held breath or clenched hands mean slow down and check in.
What angle should I aim for?
Slightly upward, toward his belly button. The prostate sits on the front wall about 5-7 cm inside. A pillow under his hips and a forward rock of your pelvis do most of the work.
How fast should I thrust?
Start with one stroke every two seconds, 1-3 cm long. After five minutes build to a stroke a second. Rocking motion often feels better to him than thrusting, so try small circular movements too.
What if I lose my rhythm or feel silly?
Stop, kiss him, breathe, and start again. Laughing is fine and usually helps him relax. Confidence comes from slow starts and from talking, not from performance.
How long should one session last?
Plan for 30-60 minutes in total, of which actual penetration is perhaps 10-20 minutes. Warm-up and aftercare take the rest, and this is normal for first sessions.
